Pepper Spray, a little history

Our first line of defense in most cases, other than running like Hell.

Pepper Spray has modest beginnings that are steeped in human history. Anyone who has served remembers their encounter with the gas chamber as part of their basic training. Police Academies today all over the country have their trainee’s experience what pepper spray is like.

The Chinese have been using pepper and spices to throw at their enemies for literally thousands of years.  In 1864 Germans used tear gas for the first time.  Chemical agents have been around for nearly a century. If you have ever gotten pepper in your eyes, you know what an interesting experience it was.

Pepper Spray also works very well against animals with sensitive noses especially bears, mountain lions, and dogs. The U.S. Postal Service has all of its’ carriers carry pepper spray. How is that for an credible endorsement?

Many of the other non lethal self defense products on the market today like steel batons, stun guns, Tasers, pepper sprays, et. al. all gets plenty of free publicity mostly because they save lives and are so effective. Pepper sprays are a favorite of women for personal protection because they are small, effective and easy to carry.

Pepper Spray is legal in all 50 states, however a number of cities and states have restrictions on sizes, strengths, etc.. If you have a question, it is wise to check with you local city or state attorney’s office.

Pepper spray is a weapon. It is strongly recommended that some training or practice take place before actual use. Please note that pepper spray has been known to have no or little effect on people who are on drugs or drunk.

Pepper spray may also have limited impact on aggressive dogs like pit bulls, Dobermans or German Shepherds.

Like all personal protection products the purpose is to give you time to escape or get help not injure or maim. The effects of pepper spray can last as long as 30-45 minutes giving you more than enough time to get away with no lasting damage to the bad guys. Our pepper spray has a UV dye that tags the assailant for easy identification.

Pepper spray is 7 times hotter than a habanera pepper. A squirt of pepper spray in the face will cause the attacker to have shortness of breath, temporary blindness due to excessive tearing and the eyes actually shutting down, coughing and choking. It is very wicked stuff.

If you are looking for an inexpensive, non lethal and effective tool in the fight against crime and a tool for your own personal protection,  It is pepper spray.
